Health Sciences

Advance Wellness in Your Community with a Health Sciences Degree

You care about high-quality healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention – and you want a career that improves lives close to home. A Health Sciences degree from Keuka College can help you get there.

Health Sciences is an applied field focused on human health. It draws on scientific knowledge to promote wellness, understand how the body functions, prevent illness, and support the management and treatment of disease. As a Health Sciences major at Keuka College, you’ll connect concepts from the natural and social sciences to real questions in health, disease, and healthcare.

You’ll build a strong foundation in the liberal arts and sciences through coursework in areas such as health, medical ethics, and population health. You’ll also develop essential biological science knowledge – including human anatomy and physiology – alongside physics and chemistry, then bring it all together through a specially designed capstone experience.

Do an Internship Every Year

Every student completes an internship every year through Keuka College’s Field Period®. You’ll gain hands-on experience that connects classroom learning to real-world practice – building your résumé, network, and confidence as you explore settings that match your goals. Field Period® is a defining part of the Keuka experience and a major reason many students choose Keuka, because it provides a clear advantage when applying for jobs and graduate programs.

Learn in State-of-the-Art Facilities

Train in Keuka College’s Health Professions Simulation Labs – a realistic health system designed for immersive, hands-on learning. With six distinct labs and dedicated instructional space, you’ll strengthen clinical skills, communication, and teamwork in an environment built for practice and feedback. You’ll also work in Jephson Science Center labs designed by the professors who teach in them, using research-grade tools to analyze real samples with precision.

Enter an In-Demand Field

Healthcare is a high-opportunity career space, with strong long-term demand across many roles and settings. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects about 1.9 million openings each year in healthcare occupations through 2034 – driven by growth and the need to replace workers who retire or change careers. And because the field continues to evolve, it rewards professionals who can adapt – applying new evidence, tools, and approaches to meet changing patient and community needs.
