Keuka College has once again been recognized nationally for its commitment to providing an exceptional undergraduate education, earning designation as a 2026-27 College of Distinction.

In addition to the overall honor – which was received for the 12th successive year – the College earned recognition in four specialized categories:

  • College of Distinction for Business

  • College of Distinction for Education

  • College of Distinction for Nursing

  • New York Private College of Distinction

“Receiving this recognition for the 12th consecutive year affirms what makes a Keuka College education distinctive. Our faculty and staff create an environment where students don’t simply learn about their future careers – they begin living them. Through real-world experiences provided by our Field Period® program, nursing practicums, and internship placements, our students graduate with the confidence, skills, and professional experience to succeed from their very first day on the job.”

President Amy Storey

Colleges of Distinction evaluates institutions based on four key pillars: student-centered education, teaching quality, community engagement, and successful post-graduate outcomes. Keuka College’s emphasis on experiential learning through its signature Field Period program, international study opportunities, undergraduate research, and close faculty mentorship exemplifies those values.

“This recognition underscores the consistency and quality that have become hallmarks of a Keuka College education,” said Dr. Twyla J. Cummings, chair of the College’s Board of Trustees. “Sustained excellence doesn’t happen by chance – it’s the result of an administration and faculty that continually invests in innovation, student support, and academic rigor. As trustees, we are proud to help steward an institution that builds on its strengths to create even greater opportunities for our students.”

The College’s BusinessEducation, and Nursing programs were cited for providing exceptional discipline-specific learning experiences that combine academic rigor with practical application, internships, clinical experiences, and community engagement.

Chief Operating Officer Tyson Schritter of Colleges of Distinction said the College stands out for preparing students to thrive in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.

“Keuka College delivers the kind of intentional, high-impact education that equips students for whatever comes next,” Schritter said.

The annual Colleges of Distinction guide recognizes institutions that demonstrate a proven commitment to undergraduate education through innovative teaching, personalized learning, and successful student outcomes. The organization identifies colleges and universities that prioritize student engagement, experiential learning, and career readiness.
