Keuka College Student Tackles Food Insecurity Through Field Period® Service

More than 40 million Americans lack reliable access to adequate nutrition. Keuka College students like Mallory Lombard are taking action.

The issue of food security has motivated Keuka College students across all majors as they launch their annual Field Period® internships and service projects in our community and beyond.

In recent semesters, students have conducted independent research on the impact of global food aid programs, volunteered with faith-based hunger relief organizations, and studied malnutrition in older adults alongside scholars at Imperial College London.

This semester, Mallory Lombard, a junior Business Management major, is flexing her marketing and networking skills to support the Keuka College Food Pantry – a vital resource for students and the entire KC family. She’s crafting social content, designing surveys, and partnering with student clubs and local businesses to drive donations and reach those in need.
