Leaders from Keuka College and the Yunnan University of Finance and Economics (YUFE) – one of its partner universities in China – met last week to discuss new opportunities for their ongoing partnership.
The delegates included representatives of the university’s central administration, as well as faculty and administrators from its International Cooperation and Exchange Office, the School of Statistics and Mathematics, and the School of Economics.
The delegation met on March 22 with College President Dr. Jorge L. Díaz-Herrera, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Paul H. Forestell, and Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Development Mark Petrie.
Discussions focused on an upcoming accreditation review of Keuka College's partnership with YUFE by the Chinese Ministry of Education, as well as opportunities to expand the number of students coming to the Keuka College campus.
Specifically, the colleges reviewed offering scholarships to YUFE students in schools other than the International School, who, while not part of the Keuka College management program, nonetheless have an interest in studying in the United States.
Leaders from both colleges said there is a strong interest in developing new initiatives to strengthen their partnership and provide additional opportunities for faculty and students of both institutions.
